Sharrat did make some $7 million from viewers willing to pony up a $14.95 pay-per-view fee. That kind of luck encouraged Sharrat to try again. Last night, psychics gathered at John Lennon’s favorite New York restaurant (Dakota & Cafe La Fortuna) in an attempt to reach out to the former Beatle, as cameras focused on the Strawberry Fields memorial in Manhattan’s Central Park and other Lennon sites.

A week before her untimely end an alert was issued thru psychic channels but the warning was not heeded, so that in looking back some may say it was contrived or even a hundredth monkey effect… Still it did not change the outcome. She did not listen then why would she now? Mediums have an even more difficult time and when you add the cameras and money there can be but one outcome. In some respects money will find its own way but that does not equate to success in a true sense. It is a double edge no matter how you choose to cut it because it does cut both ways and you can’t have your cake and eat it too. Success is, as always, in the eyes or in the heart of the beholder of a certain truth.

Its really hard to describe, the day had been warm for the mountains, while the rest of the country sweltered in 100 degree plus temperatures, an 87 degrees is very unusual for this mountain paradise. Later that afternoon a huge storm burst made the day look like a complete washout. Still the reservations were set for the seafood buffet… Little did I know the experience, or should I say the epiphany that awaited…

It was a quite uneventful drive, no real distinguishing signs of what awaited… Except the line of beautiful homes, with accentually well manicured gardens. The entrance was as if tucked away in a secret garden of ancient forest… Still no commercial signs on an almost residential drive along the long and steep ridge. Suddenly you round the top and promptly you’re greeted by the omni presents of a grand palace that seemingly drops out of the sky complete with a friendly guard a rather jovial gentleman dressed in a top hat and Ferrari red vest. Complete with instructions to the easy access parking garage to the dining room of choice… Since there are seven from which to choose. The elevator is a convenient and easy access from our 6th level parking floor up to Blue Ridge Dining Room lobby level.

As we enter the Lobby level of the Vanderbilt Wing I hear the live guitar strumming sweet music of James Taylor. The maî·tres d’hô·tel took us on a guided tour of the dining area garden of delectable delights. I had not requested a window seating but a more choice view I could not have planned to order in my wildest dreams. Looking out was a view that defies description… But I can relate a near mystical experience as the setting sun’s golden rays broke through the dark clouds and cast a surreal scene as the clouds hung like smoke over the mountain peaks with the lush green gardens below stole my breath and a site so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes. It was simply drop dead glorious and if you happen to actually slip these surly earthly bonds it was with certain comfort that the door to heaven lay only a few short steps away.
