The race does not always go to the swift or the strong… But in the SEC style (Well actually the protodesign Southern Conference “SoCon”) of football more often than not, it goes to the team that can endure the agony, torture, and play with the intensity of pain throbbing victory well deserved. Not size of the dog in the fight but rather the fight inside of the dog. This was a game where the fans at Michigan’s Big House can’t even find Appalachian State on the map (on a personal note may remember learning of Appalachian State when my sixth grade school teacher’s husband became head coach Breakfield and left Wofford College in Spartanburg to move to Boone, NC ).
No. 5 Michigan Pantsed By Armanti Suits

Nothing really happens on the first weekend of the college football season. Sure, there are a few good, BCS-significant games (see Cal vs Tennessee or Georgia vs Oklahoma State), but for the most part, it’s the big boys getting their jollies against the runts of the litter (see Penn State over Florida International 59-0 and Louisville over Murray State 73-10).Then this happens. Out of nowhere, the Mountaineers begin their hard charge towards a national championship in 2007 with a win over the No. 5 Michigan Wolverines.
No, I’m not talking about West Virginia, but rather the “other” Mountaineers, from Appalachian State, of the Football Championship Subdivision (formerly Division I-AA).[...]
