Is a sacred day in most any year but this year particularly demands a special pause… Men, our sons, fathers and mothers are once again dying in numbers that should strike a cord in the hardest of hearts… In a hostile and increasly unpopular war, doing what they were ordered to do. Fight for our freedom, they deserve better. Not just from the country that sent them into harms way but from the leadership that has somehow managed to stall and drive this nation into an ever weeping field amuck.

First of all let me be clear, I for one never bought into any of this prade of lies that carried us into this field far astray from our founding fathers… But now that we are there and about to lose whatever is left of our self respect as a nation I feel it is incumbent to do all we can, as Americans, to avoid a widening Catastrophe that the present administration seems to have little problem in finding at every turn… Or so it seems it finds them. Never the mind that we could (The United States of America that is) fight this war for another 50 years if, that is “IF” we found the proper political will and motivation. It is clear, at least in my mind, that the present leadership is fairly oblivious to this fact but content to trudge on aimlessly into the ever darking field of their own void stupor.

Now, to just about everyone else in the free world its clear a change in direction should be followed by a change in Policy… It IS NOT winning a War but securing a Peace that is imperative. The change (the troop surge) cannot find a suitable outcome unless some one is at the helm that the people and more importantly the “people” in Congress feel we can trust… And its not “Condi” Rice at the World Bank

My short list in the best of all possible worlds is General Colin Powell, James Baker, or Sam Nunn. I’m sure it’s a bit much to ask of anyone but I think General Colin Powell deserves an apology from this administration and an opportunity to set the historical record right once and for the entire world to see. Would he take on such a awesome responsibility… Anyone else with an ounce of common sense would, in all probability pass, but General Powell has uncommon sense and the duty of a solider. The President should be man enough to admit that mistakes were made and offer the General the opportunity to set things right… He deserves it, the country deserves its, and lord know our soilders in the field need to know that they have “THEIR” man making the calls instead of a yes, man or woman. The World Bank needs a new direction and securing a peaceful future for all nations should be at the very top of everyone angenda. How about the real fight to save our planet from global climate Catastrophe… God bless America!

I’m sure there are none more compelled to find a solution to the present delimma than Sen. Lindsey Graham, Sen John McCain and Sen. John W. Warner. Perhaps these men might set the President’s ear on fire. Lord knows we do not need another Vietnam.
