Speaking the truth in a world of pay-for-view lies.
Mitch Ratcliffe over at ZDNet takes on the process of getting paid and speaking the truth.. Is the Funding of an idea wrong??? Maybe you’re right in that funding for a story could (say if there was just one story, one agenda, one last dollar in the world)… such scheme might be considered a kind of monolithic well spring for the new age of the “Yellow Journalist”. But our world is much more complex and I’m sure for every story there is the other side of the coin. I would say that today’s web seems more geared and favors the Yellow Journalist… Where you have large XML/RSS portals such as The MahaBlog MoveOn.org and The Daily Kos ( though they would, I’m sure, be the first to repute the fact) they are among the most bias and dare I say racist example of “Yellow Dog Journalism” that I’ve read in recent years… IN fact one would have to go back to the early years of the 60’s Klan and NeoNazi to find the virulence of the attack in what happened with Sen. Lieberman in what amounts to nothing less than a high tech lynch mob. Just because of his sincere belief that we’re doing the right thing by holding our ground. And I think in time, when taken in a historical perspective, I believe that Sen. Lieberman’s courageous stand will be seen as correct, if we are to prevail over the terrorist factions who have no other goal but to bury our people and our country… Appeasement has never worked and it will not work now.
