This is a repost of a blog on one of my remote servers that got hacked *again* this week… But it could not have happened at a better time with yesterday the Attorney General pushing with renewed vigor for censorship of the Internet… Maybe something to do with the visit from that other champion of censorship this week from the People’s Republic of Online Sweatshops:)

Look if some of you just think that it ONLY liberals have a problem with this all this nonsense of giving up our constitutional rights because some pervert terrorist might be hiding under our bed… That’s simply ridiculous. You’d be hard pressed to find anyone more conservative than me (I’d have voted for Barry Goldwater if I had been old enough). Conservatives are by nature very suspicious of trusting big government. In any event, this is a question, in my mind at least, which concerns more of principals than perverts. But, I think, most would agree that perversion of our constitution in such a twisted contortion of logic is rather ominous. Most are enraged over is not the fact the president is protecting us but rather that he’s does not seem as intent on protecting the constitution. The fact of the matter is that if the president does the job that he was elected to do, (namely to “defend and protect THE CONSTITUTION OF the UNITED STATES of America) “We the people” will be just fine.
Are we at war? There has yet to be a formal declaration from congress. Though 2,000 soldiers is two thousand too many, if it is indeed a war it is vastly different than any we have fought before. The bloodiest war in human history was fought, in large part, to settle and establish constitutional principals once and for all. Antietam, Chancellorsville, Chickamauga, Cold Harbor, Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Vicksburg… You name the battle (they were tens of dozens) that raged where in tens of thousands were slaughtered in a single battle. The modern mind cannot seem to comprehend the enormous magnitude of the human massacre during the Civil War but to give something of a perspective, more American soldiers died in the single battle of Gettysburg than in the whole of Vietnam spread over then entirety of ten full years.
You say “Our rights and freedoms and liberties were given by those who risk their lives everyday for your abuse of your rights with no concern for the innocent like those of 9/11”.To which I can only say that we are indeed blessed to live in a nation where so many have freely seen fit to sacrifice courageously in preserving these sacred principals. But, FREEDOM is, according to our Constitution, an inalienable right from our creator… Given this fact makes the defense of these freedom even more imperative and the masquerade of those who hide behind the flag, and under the skirts perverts perversion in the pretense of patriotism even more scandalous. The entire charade of JACK ABRAMOFF pocketful of corruption is more terrifying than any spider holed specter of a phantom Bin Laden might ever hope to conjure. We do not win this war on terror by Goose stepping, kowtowing, or otherwise Googling down our freedoms because of some kind of barbaric cartoon notion of how we should conduct our hard fought principals of freedom. Our greatest protection from and ultimate victory over such lunacy IS our Constitution. We win as have always won… by standing up for our freedom not kneeling and bowing down to some kind of shadow tyrant or caving in to a cross of gold. The only way we can loose is by selling out and locking ourselves in our own shackles of fear.
