The ability to silence critics, not unlike the power to tax is also the ability to destroy. All things considered this may contort the law in ways few have ever envisioned. I think its obvious to any who might take a simple reading that its poorly constructed and may have been in fact by design. Those who may occupy positions of influence may require a certain amount of denial of responsibility as in this tradition of these most Machiavellian of times. It appears we have yet to witness but only the tip of the iceberg from this sordid attempt to silence the freedom of press in this nation under the guise of some kind of Woman’s act… What a crock.

The thing to consider is the freedom of the press right’s most enjoy to protect their sources, according to this definition would also make those journalist with the most sterling of press credentials, cretins criminals subject to prosecution under this law… Because all Journalist, to a person, depend upon anonymous sources so that i.e. if one quotes an anonymous source for drawing criticism then one is then guilty de facto.

It is an incongruous and simply incompatible with the principles of democracy and a free press that this unlikely law seems more likely powered by those in positions of power with the big bucks and thin skin who can control large segments of cyberspace by a means of simply buying out the large encoded portals that cater to certain sections of the demographic population that make use of the net and then by means of their Terms of Service (“Internet sweat shops” I’m not kidding why do you think the China loaned all those big bucks), hold their membership captive for any kind of abuse (such as Internet long distant loan shark activity say 38% plus featured listings you do the math) and anything else that they might deem themselves able to get away. This law helps no one but the inside influence peddlers and corrupt politicians and corporation executives who feel that they have something to hide. In these days of the Jack Abramoff style of corruption scandal (which promises to dwarf any outrage any have yet to witnessed in our lifetime) leaves little doubt how such a bad law so poorly crafted could obtain the approval of those who lawmakers could barely read it… Because it was in their best interest not to read it.

But people you better take a good look at the constitution of this nation; it very well might be your last before it is gone… For over 200 years people have fought, bleed, and died to preserve these cherished freedoms which could vanish in the wink of an eye. I don’t think Osama Bin Laden hiding under the bed is the problem here but the fear of it all maybe is.
